Played for a while now and really got into the unique and nice atmosphere. For me, a game needs to deliver immersion through a great feeling, and Caravan definitely has that. If you like getting immersed into another world, and just play along with a steady flow, it's a game for you. For me, it's much like Windward and Sunless Sea - I like these kinda old school-ish games that deliver a certain relaxed feeling while challenging you more and more. I also like how they set up the many towns you can explore a little bit different each time, and the easy trading system that let's you play randomly and just enjoy the atmosphere.. It's a casual game with simple decisions. Buy low, sell high. Decide on your trading route. Take care that the caravan always has enough water. Additional crew gives different advantages. A trader improves prices when he haggles successfully. Scouts can gain windfall profits while travelling, mercenaries and scoundrels help in battles.The pace of the game is sedate. The start is slow until you're able to get the first donkeys for your caravan to get carriage space for the trade goods. But even later on, the game is a grind. Travel forth and back, gain experience, earn money to improve your crew. Beside the developing backstory, there's not much variation in events and mechanisms. It's obvious that the developer usually does casual mobile games. The first hours are enjoyable, the second half of my playthrough was just ok. Can be recommended as mindless relaxation after work when no major brain or dexterity activity is wanted.. Fun game, picked up for a couple bucks on sale. Wasnt disapointed, would like to see perhaps other types of this game, maybe even a silk road expansion.. This is one of those games where we need a neutral review option. Cool style and concept, but week mechanically and easily exploited. Try on a sale.. I'm 1 hour into the game and i can say that it's a good trading game.After the tutorial, you start in the south western part of the arab peninsula, trading between cities, building up your caravan, hire additional crew and going on quests. The travels are sometimes interrupted by random encounters: help someone, fight critters, take a moral decission, investigate a cave, ...The encounters have simplified gameplay and as of that loosen up the travels without disturbing the trading aspect of the game.Last but not least the game seems to have an interesting storyline too, at least from what i can tell after 1h into the game.
